I want to learn more about work abroad programmes. Where do I start?

I am an individual interested in a work experience opportunity. How do I become a member of WYSE Work Abroad?

Membership with WYSE Work Abroad is not available on an individual basis. It is only open to organisations involved in work abroad programmes. WYSE Work Abroad Association is a business-to-business association and is not involved with placing candidates in vacancies. If you are interested in a work experience opportunity, please contact one of the WYSE Work Abroad members in your country of residence. Click HERE for a list of members.

Why should my organisation become a WYSE Work Abroad member?

Membership will expose your organisation to new networking opportunities, will keep you updated on trends and developments in the industry and allow your organisation to play a key role in shaping the standards of the work abroad industry. How does my organisation become a member of WYSE Work Abroad Association?

If your organisation specialises in work abroad programmes (sending and receiving participants), or offers services to work abroad programmes participants, or is a small company developing their work abroad programmes then you are eligible to apply for membership with WYSE Work Abroad. There is an application form in the Application section on the website (downloadable in pdf format) for you to fill out and send in.

How long will it take for my organisation´s application to be processed?

Membership applications can take up to 2 months to process. The reason for this is that all member applicants are screened to ensure that only reputable, financially sound companies are admitted as members.

When I send company documents to WYSE Work Abroad, who will view them?

The WYSE Work Abroad works under the strict policy that all member applicant information received is to be treated as highly confidential. Only the Director General, Finance Manager and selected professional staff of the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Confederation view your application documents.

What happens to my application after I send it to WYSE Work Abroad?

1. After WYSE Work Abroad receives your application, complete with all supporting documentation, the World Youth Student & Educational Travel Confederation Director General screens each application individually. If any concerns arise during this screening process, the applicant is contacted, and action is advised. 2. A summary of each application along with the Director General’s endorsement is submitted to the WYSE Work Abroad Executive Board for final review. 3. Within two weeks of approval by the WYSE Work Abroad Executive Board, each applicant is notified whether they have been accepted as Provisional Members. Provisional Members enjoy all the rights and benefits of regular members, except the right to vote or stand for election. 4. Once a year all Full Voting Members of WYSE Work Abroad are asked to confirm all provisional members as regular members. After the votes are tallied, the member applicants are notified of the results.

How often do I have to pay membership fees to the Association?

Members are required to pay an annual membership fee. Invoices are issued in early January for the period January 1 – December 31. New members will receive an invoice no later than 3 months after being awarded provisional members status.

I am already a member of I am already a member of WYSE Work Abroad and my organisation has just moved and changed its address. Who should I inform?

If your organisation’s contact details change, you must notify the WYSE Work Abroad Secretariat immediately. As a member of WYSE Work Abroad, your company information is displayed online, it is therefore very important the we have your correct details at all times. If your company name changes while you are a member or a member applicant, we must also be informed immediately.
