WYSE Travel Confederation is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking and proactive manager that can serve an active membership community, with strong skills in organisation, communication, marketing, event management, research, advocacy and membership services, to join our international team in Amsterdam. Reporting to the Director General, the focus of this position will be management of WYSE Work Abroad (www.wyseworkabroad.org) and membership services for WYSE Travel Confederation (www.wysetc.org), a not-for-profit organisation representing the global youth and student travel industry.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a strong programme of representation that promotes the social and economic value of international youth travel experiences and furthers the development of strong niche industry sectors that provide quality programmes and services to young travellers.
• Maintain a programme of membership services that advances the interests of organisations active in providing specialised services to young travellers.
• Engage the membership of service providers in activities that promote the interests of the niche industry and support the delivery of quality innovative services to young travellers.
• Provide strategic policy advice / direction to the Association Executive Boards on various matters, including: association governance, operations, programme priorities, membership services, market positioning, etc.
• Develop, implement and monitor a strategy to recruit new members to the Associations against annual targets.
• Lead preparation of Executive Board and AGM meetings and documentation. Provide logistical and organisational direction in organising meetings and events.
• Coordinate production of marketing, branding and PR materials to promote the mission of the Associations and to engage the membership
• Represent the Associations and Confederation at regional, national and global events.
• Preparation of reports to sector association Executive Boards and to the membership at Annual General Meetings.
• Source and manage relationships with partners & consultants including development and operation of research and international projects, as applicable, that further the objectives of the Associations.
Requirements:
• Strong (English language) skills
• Demonstrated project management experience with excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills.
• A self-starter; energetic, proactive, with a professional demeanour and the ability to multi-task, take initiative, pay attention to detail & work independently.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure whilst working to tight timelines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and, preferably, database systems with a good working knowledge of web-based applications.
Desirable:
Experience with the global student and youth travel industry including language travel and work and volunteer abroad sectors.
