Help Haiti by joining in the Volunteer Project at WETM-IAC in Miami
Volunteer with WYSE Work Abroad at FANM: the Haitian Womens’ Organisation in Miami.
WYSE Work Abroad is pleased to release details of its second Volunteer Project, taking place this March 17th during the Work Experience Travel Market and IAPA Annual Conference in Miami.
Contribute to the relief effort for Haiti while spending the morning with your friends at WYSE Work Abroad and other WETM-IAC delegates. Working alongside FANM, the Haitian Womens’ Organisation of Miami, volunteers will be organising and sorting donations such as clothes, tents and hygiene kits to send to Haiti.
The Programme:
- Depart from the InterContinental Miami Hotel approximately 9:00 AM Wednesday, March 17th 2010 for the FANM warehouse in ‘Little Haiti’ (transport provided)
- Volunteers will help put together donated goods to be sent to Haiti
- Lunch and a WYSE Work Abroad t-shirt will be provided to each volunteer
- Return to the InterContinental Miami Hotel at approximately 13:00 (in time for the Keynote address at 14.00)
FANM is in desperate need of tents to provide shelter in time for Haiti’s imminent rainy season. WYSE Work Abroad will be donating a tent for each volunteer participating*, and volunteers are of course welcome to make their own donations too.
WYSE Work Abroad would like to thank Roxana O’Harra of Volunteers for International Partnership and the Educational Resource Development Trust (ERDT) who has been invaluable in arranging this project for us.
