Join WYSE Work Abroad in celebrating the many benefits of the work and volunteer abroad experience by participating in our WYSE Work Abroad “Expand Your Horizons” Video Contest 2010—an online video submission contest. One lucky participant will win US$2,000!
How can a work or volunteer abroad participant join the contest?
Create a 2-3 minute video about your work or volunteer abroad experience
Review the Terms and Conditions
Upload your video to YouTube or other video-sharing site
Notify WYSE Work Abroad that you’ve entered the contest by emailing us.
Please include:
your full name
a link to your video
the title of your video
the name of the WYSE Work Abroad member organisation that you are representing
WYSE Work Abroad will then acknowledge receipt of submissions that meet all contest requirements and which have been approved for entry in this year's contest.
The winner will be selected by a jury and notified in early October 2010.

How can a WYSE Work Abroad member organisation participate?
Easy.
Your video contest toolkit is available online. For the link to the toolkit, please e-mail mailbox@wyseworkabroad.org. With these tools you can:
Upload our contest banner, and promote the contest on your website.
Send our flyers to your incoming/outgoing participants pre-departure.
Post our printable flyers in your organisation’s common areas (i.e., copy rooms, lunch rooms, and bulletin boards).
Send out our template text about the contest in the body of emails you send to your incoming participants, before their departure.
Link to our website or microblog which detail the contest rules.
Watch out for the announcement of the winner at WYSTC 2010 in Beijing!
How does my organisation benefit?
WYSE Work Abroad will notify you when a participant from your organisation submits an eligible video and joins the contest. You’ll be able to promote your participant’s video on your site, providing you with free marketing of your organisation, and increased profile amongst your participants.
Your organisation will be mentioned in our newsletters, with increased publicity for the contest winner’s organisation when the contest winner is announced at WYSTC 2010. Plus, you’ll be helping to expand the profile of the work and volunteer abroad industry and WYSE Work Abroad!
Expand Your Horizons Video Contest 2010 Terms and Conditions
Contest participants must be enrolled in a programme run by a WYSE Work Abroad member organisation (either a sending or hosting organisation). Any nationality can apply and you can be working in any country.
Your submission must be accompanied by an email to WYSE Work Abroad (mailbox@wyseworkabroad.org), noting your first and last name and the member organisation you are representing, along with the title and a link to your video.
Only one entry is permitted per person.
The work abroad experience (work abroad, work & travel, volunteer, and camp counselling are all considered ‘work abroad’ experiences for this contest) must take place between October 2009 and August 2010.
All entries must be submitted by the contest closing date: midnight CET, 17 September 2010. No responsibility will be accepted for entries which fail to arrive in the WYSE Work Abroad inbox by this closing date.
Au pair participants are ineligible at this time and are encouraged to participate in IAPA’s Au Pair of the Year Contest (www.iapa.org).
Videos must be no longer than 3 minutes. Videos over 3 minutes will be considered ineligible.
WYSE Work Abroad respects the rights of artists and creators and will not accept any submissions that include material flagged by YouTube, Yahoo! Video or other video-sharing sites as infringing copyright. Submissions that infringe upon copyright will be considered ineligible. For more information and useful tips regarding copyright, see YouTube’s Copyright Tips and Terms of Service. If you are searching for music published under Creative Commons licenses to use in your video, we suggest you take a look at Jamendo.
By submitting your video you are authorising WYSE Work Abroad and/or its member organisations to use your video and/or name in our contest promotions and accompanying materials.
It is a condition of entry that all entrants agree to be bound by these rules.
